Bio

Film and Stage Actor based in Dominican Republic. Born in Constanza, La Vega, in 1996, Nelson Miguel began his involvement in theater at a young age in school, influenced by the strong musical traditions of his family. In 2009, through the Sembrando Teatro program, he discovered his passion for theater and, with his classmates, formed the Teatro Vívere group. With this group, he has performed in La Romana, at the Teatro Guloya, at the Emilio Aparicio Festival, and at the Teatro Don Bosco in Moca.

In 2013, he began his studies at APEC University. He continued his theatrical training at Teatro Las Máscaras and with the Anacaona Teatro group. In 2014, he premiered at Teatro Las Máscaras with the play "Un Viejo Con Alas" by Melvin Méndez; that same year, he performed at the Casa España Club with "La Muerte al Volante." These were his first plays under the direction of Lidia Ariza. At the end of that year, he debuted at the Sala Ravelo of the National Theater with Molière's classic "Les Précieuses Ridículas" alongside Gianni Paulino, Elvira Taveras, Isen Ravelo, Xavier Ortíz, among others, under the direction of Germana Quintana. He participated in the Quintana de Oro theater festival, winning five awards: Best New Actor 2016, Best Lead Actor, Best Supporting Actor, and twice Best Playwriting. He also worked on the production of the 9th Group Theater Biennial.

Since 2017, he has worked in both advertising and theater, as an actor but also in lighting design and music for plays such as "El Cumpleaños de Vitalina" at the Ravelo Hall of the National Theater, and several plays at Teatro Las Máscaras. As an actor, he has also participated in festivals such as "24 Hours of Theater," "UNAPEC Marzo Teatral," and "Teatro Por Un Tubo." His performances have taken place at Casa de Teatro, Teatro Guloya, Teatro Las Máscaras, the Ravelo Theater Hall of the National Theater, the main auditorium of the UCE, the Monina Solá Hall, and Theater Under the Stars, among others.

In April 2021, he moved to the town of La Romana, where he explored filmmaking, educating himself through independent workshops that led him to participate in advertising campaigns with Cervecería Nacional for the Malta Morena (Copa) and Presidente (Plátano Power 2023) brands. He has also worked on music videos such as “El Chacarrón 3.0” by El Chombo featuring Andy’s Val (EPD), Maffio, and Shelow Shaq, as well as “Mc Gregor” by Anuel AA. He also gained on-camera experience with the YouTube project “La Escena Es” with Erlyn Saúl. As an extra, he has worked on projects including the documentary film “NYAD,” starring Jodie Foster and Annette Bening, also "Reversión" (2025), Jacob Santana's Opera Prima. Nelson Miguel made his debut with his first one-liner in Dominican cinema with the film Melodrama, directed by Andrés Farias. His first film role was as a Young Boss in a Latin American horror and magical realism film, "The Mouth Of The Furnace," directed by Felipe Vargas.

In film he also dabbled in score writing and producing for the web series "Famigos" produced by LAESCENAES.
